This is a critical resource in Corporate Investment Banking Group and International where the area of influence and operation will include all CIB units, International network, Group enablement functions and regulatory bodies (as required), both within UAE and internationally. To deliver on the above, the role requires the breadth of experience to perform this very strategic and complex role.


  • Ensure the CIB and International Group are aligned with FAB’s vision, objectives, plans & tools required to meet performance targets and aligning to the strategic ambitions of the bank;

  • Lead and support CIB’s & International Strategy by definition, project and change management;

  • Coordinate a cross-functional and cross-regional alignment activities with focus on client delivery, business synergies, costs, risks and regulatory needs across all CIB & International Group businesses, products, and locations;

  • Manage and implement strategy roll-out and ensure all businesses are aligned internally while managing and mitigating related risks arising from cross-functional and cross-geographic work-streams;

  • Act as the point of contact on all strategic matters and business management related matters within CIB and International for the enablement teams (e.g. Risk, Credit, Legal & Compliance, Internal Audit, Marketing & Communications, IT, HR, Operations, Finance);

  • Work with the assigned teams to prepare, design and implement marketing related matters for CIB;

  • Function as an effective resource to the various business Group Heads, Executives and Management teams;

  • Support Group Head, Bankers and Products with key Business Management functions including project management and data analysis;

  • Centrally manage data requirements including reporting and proactively manage data and report quality to efficiently and proactively provide to both Management, Bankers and Products;

  • Research and identify initiatives for business and make recommendations to direct reports;

  • Develop and maintain analytical models in support of strategic initiatives;

  • Become a brand ambassador in the market for FAB with the ability to navigate across multiple disciplines (finance, strategy, marketing credit, legal, compliance, operations etc.);

  • Prepare presentation material for Management and Business for both internal and external use

  • Represent the division internally;


Strategy and Project Management:

  • Build strong internal contact network and work with all internal departments where appropriate;

  • Become one of the central contacts for all Strategic and Project initiatives across CIB & International;

  • Ensure that CIB & International’s vision, objectives, plans, resources & implementation tools required to meet performance targets are aligned to the strategic ambitions of the bank;

  • Ensure monitoring and implementation of necessary actions to achieve strategic goals;

  • Development of culture of “Accuracy” and “Speed”;

  • Delivery of Internal and external communication (e.g. internal quarterly financial results, deal announcements, major deals closed, awards, events, organization changes);

  • Ensure all business units are cognizant of day to day business within the prescribed control framework to pre-empt operational risk, compliance and audit issues;

  • Track and manage a portfolio of initiatives and projects. Ensure project milestones, outcomes and objectives are achieved and communicated to appropriate stakeholders by supporting cross – department teams;

  • Provide suggestions and recommendations on CIB related ideas, activities and tasks and coordinate execution of approved concepts;

  • Support decision maker in planning and collating data and information;

  • Establish appropriate SLA’s with Support and Control Function partners and ensures that variances to agreed SLAs are monitored and reported to the relevant business heads;

  • Coordinate with internal audit, compliance, credit and risk on relevant issues and monitor timeline implementation;

  • Working closely with the enablement support groups for e.g. CIB collateral, newsletters, pitch books, events, factsheets in addition to L & D for training requirements for the CIB staff. Also the internal communications for CIB;

  • Leverage exceptional problem-solving skills to identify key issues/questions, develop and ensure follow through on comprehensive plans;

  • Create and deliver presentations that effectively communicate key projects and findings and recommendations to various audiences at the highest quality as per International standards;

  • Contribute to team development and help oversee junior staff;

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Lead analysis to improve business performance (e.g., Account rationalization etc…);

  • Reviews reports related to business unit performance, SLAs, audit & other control functions, management reports and dash-boards to ensure comprehensiveness, and accuracy;

  • Work with Finance & IT to automate Mgt. reports & dashboards to support decision making.

People Development and Management:

  • Develops talent within the team by providing guidance and coaching to achieve the defined goals;
  • Follow your ambitions through professional development and high achievement;
  • Implements Manager Scorecard core people management responsibilities including engagement, performance management, and mandatory learning objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree &/or appropriate professional qualifications.

    Minimum Experience:

  • 5 - 8 years of experience with a top tier Management Consulting firm or an Investment Bank.

    Job Knowledge & Skills:

  • Extensive experience in both setting and implementing Strategy and initiatives;

  • Extensive knowledge in Microsoft office suite (Excel, PPT etc…);

  • Creative mind set relevant for Marketing and positioning of CIB business Strategy;

  • Extensive knowledge in production of important power point presentations and other publications for CIB;

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;

  • Hands-on knowledge and application of Project Management skills and tools in large scale institutions;

  • Track record in strategy definition and implementation as well as business development within financial services;

  • Experience in management of transformation programs and process improvement;

  • Demonstrable capabilities to meet and set targets and deliverables across project teams;

  • Deep understanding of Corporate & Investment banking products and activity;

  • Ability to manage diverse teams to roll-out cross functional initiatives and projects;

  • Ability to gain and maintain commitments from multiple stakeholders (both internal & external);

  • Discrete and has strong mindset for integrity and the ability to handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality;

  • Well-developed organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities;

  • Ability to quickly and effectively respond to rapidly changing business needs and urgent requests;

  • Scope projects and create workable project plans;
