Director, Global Markets - Sales

As a member of the Global Markets, Sales, within Global Markets (Corporate & Investment Banking) the incumbent will be a strong team player with the ability to deliver agreed sales and revenue targets across Global Markets. In addition, along with identifying and cultivating cross sell opportunities within the sectors and geographies, this will be a pre-requisite to build long term relationships aimed at firmly establishing FAB as the best Arab bank in the world. Assist a team of Corporate sales personnel in order to market the GM franchise and build solid relationships with IBG Abu Dhabi corporate entities. Focus will be on external customers to provide suitable and innovative solutions using progressive derivative products, alongside the marketing of traditional treasury flow products.



  • Dealing Room: Duties carried out under severe pressure, hectic conditions and in a tense atmosphere with many distractions.
  • Negotiate structure and price to volatile and demanding customers.
  • To manage and enhance a portfolio of client relationships in accordance with business strategy, underwriting standards and corporate sales policies and guidelines
  • Manage clients expectations and work closely with the GM teams (GMP and other GMS teams)
  • Long hours/shifts.
  • Manage time efficiently between meetings, presentations and providing pricing and solutions in a timely manner.
  • Close suitable deals given client risk profile and exposures, without exposing the Bank to unnecessary high risk.


  • Contact with internal and external customers, to provide GM products and services, and markets’ information.
  • Prepare and make presentations to sophisticated clients showing them suitable hedging / investment solutions.
  • Negotiate and conclude deals with external clients in a professional manner, which is also profitable to the Bank.
  • Ascertain needs and structure the best possible risk/reward solutions to the customer requirements.
  • Revert to client in a timely manner.
  • Maintain relationships with a focus to build long term relations with clients.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, external and internal approvals and limits, and suitability documents are in place in order to complete the transactions.
  • Ensure required legal documentation is fully in place at the time of dealing.
  • Contribute to increasing the competencies of subordinates/colleagues and other departments by making presentations and recommending suitable training and/or providing internal training.
  • Remain current on all products, systems and advances made in the market place.
  • Ensure the GMS IBG-Abu Dhabi team is to a level that will reflect the professional and sophisticated aspect of FAB.
  • Build and manage a professional and well reputable team to cover Abu Dhabi IBG business further.
Experience & Qualifications 
  • Minimum of a bachelor degree is Finance, Mathematics, or any other analytical degree.
  • CFA  or any other certification is perferrable
  • Minimum of 3 - 7 years of experience within Global Markets Sales role perferrales in corporate sales.
